Fujifilm X-T1 Memory Card Compatibility
The Fujifilm X-T1 is able to use SD, SDHC, and SDXC memory cards. An SD memory card with fast write speeds is necessary for video and continuous shooting.
An inadequate card can mess up the performance of your camera.
Just want a card that is compatible? Here’s my suggestion on the SD memory card to use with your Fujifilm X-T1:
- UHS-I, U1, and Class 10 Speed Rating. Can sustain 10MB/s write speeds.
- Excellent choice for photos.
- Capable of recording Full HD (1920x1080) Video.
- Inexpensive with more than good enough performance.
- Larger capacities are available for a reasonable price.
Best SD Cards
Like all things tech, the price of SD memory cards has greatly fallen since the release of the Fujifilm X-T1.
Due to costs being so affordable, it will not be wise to buy anything but a professional-quality memory card.
The best SD cards I have owned have been the SanDisk Extreme Pro, Lexar Professional, and PNY Elite Performance models. I have never had data errors or a card break with any of those memory cards.
Every one of the complications I have encountered has been due to low-cost unbranded SD memory cards. Hoping to save around a dollar isn’t worthwhile if your X-T1 is likely to have problems.
If you want to reduce the cost, grab a smaller capacity card from a high-quality company. By making that choice, you will know your images are safe on the SD memory card.

Fujifilm X-T1 SD Card Compatibility
You are limited to using SDXC, SDHC, and SD cards with the Fujifilm X-T1. For best performance, make sure your camera is using the latest firmware.
The newest cards, SDUC (Secure Digital Ultra Capacity), can not be used in the X-T1.
You should know of the 4 kinds of Secure Digital (SD) memory cards that can be bought. You can tell them apart based on their size.
- SD (Secure Digital) - 128MB to 2GB.
- SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) - 4GB to 32GB.
- SDXC (Secure Digital eXtended Capacity) - 64GB to 2TB.
- SDUC (Secure Digital Ultra Capacity) - 4TB to 128TB.
Image Capacity
Below is a fast approximation of the volume of large JPEGs pictures you should expect to be saved on a SD card:
- 16GB - 4,640 images
- 32GB - 9,280 images
- 64GB - 18,560 images
- 128GB - 37,120 images
Speed, Class, & UHS Ratings
Card Speed
The speed rating of an SD memory card is based on the sequential write and read speeds of the card. The speed of a memory card is critical for video in addition to continuous shooting.
Slows memory cards can reduce the number of continuous images the Fujifilm X-T1 can capture. This is because the camera’s buffer is not able to write data to the memory card fast enough.
With video, a slow memory card can cause recording to stop. The video file may also be corrupted. If you are going to capture video, it is crucial the card you use meets the requirements of the X-T1.
Card read speed is important for transferring files to a computer or laptop. If you have cards that are full, a SD card with a fast transfer speed will reduce the transfer time.
Speed Class Rating
The sustained write speed of an SD card is the criteria for the Class rating. Memory cards that have a write speed of at least 10MB/s will be labeled Class 10.
- Class 2 - 2MB/s
- Class 4 - 4MB/s
- Class 6 - 6MB/s
- Class 8 - 8MB/s
- Class 10 - 10MB/s or faster
Every name-brand SD card that you can find will receive a Class 10 rating. You can determine the class rating of a card by finding a number inside of the C on the front.
Ultra High Speed (UHS)
The Ultra High Speed bus (UHS) is found in SDUC, SDXC, and SDHC memory cards. UHS makes it possible offers a way to improve data transfer rates.
Three separate versions have been specified. The three are UHS-I, UHS-II, and UHS-III.
To find the rating of a card, look on the label. A Roman numeral I, II, or III on the front of the card, that will be the UHS rating of the SD memory card.
- UHS-I - Maximum transfer rate of 104 MB/s
- UHS-II - Maximum transfer rate of 312 MB/s
- UHS-III - Maximum transfer rate of 624 MB/s
